7 o’clock on Monday nights

Yes I watch this trash, and I absolutely LOVE it!  I know it's corny, sappy, fake etc. I also find it hard to believe that someone can REALLY fall in love on a TV show in front of millions of cameras.  But the truth is, I secretly get more and more excited as 7 o’clock approaches on Monday nights. (Don’t tell anyone, but I even have NWH watching, and there’s no denying he likes it too).

These are the final three.  I can not imagine who is going home tonight!  Do I have any other fans in the house???

Dear Mrs. Paula,

I tried another one of your recipes last night and it was simply delish!  Those sweet yet smoky bacon-chicken wraps were PERFECT.  NWH raved about how good they were and said these were a must for future game-watching parties.   

I’m always a little nervous when I try something different (constantly praying while cooking), but you have proven time and time again that I can count on you!!  And I’m not sure if it’s because you’re a true Southern cook, but you know just what NWH and I like and I thank you!!

P.S. I actually met Paula and her sons, Bobbie and Jamie, in Savannah a few years ago.  MIL, J-Man, NWH and I went for a little vacay.  I was a little star-struck when she got to me so all I remember is her thinking I was 13 years old ( I was 21) and MIL grabbing her hands screaming how much she loved Paula! Hahahahahaha ;)

Guess what NWH and I are doing tonight??? You got it… going to a hockey game.  We went to one a few years ago and it was surprisingly very entertaining.  I’m not one who likes to see a fight…but if is on ice, away from me, and no one REALLY gets hurt (at least that’s what NWH tells me) then I can handle it!

the only down side of spring/ summer getting here

Everyone was so sweet about my living room!!  Ya’ll make me want to post more pictures of my cute little apt!!  But I guess I will save that for next Home Tour Tuesday…

So I have decided that the only down side of spring/ summer getting here is that I will no longer be able to wear these…

I absolutely love my Ugg Kona’s.  NWH bought these for me a few years ago when we were headed to Denver for MIL’s 50^th Birthday celebration.  It was one COLD December in Colorado but these kept me so warm and comfy.  I just about live in them day-to-day throughout the fall and winter.  What do ya’ll think about these summery Uggs?

afternoon-napping, dinner-eating, magazine-reading, game-wathcing, date-nighting, wine-drinking, web surfing, etc.

I’m joining Flip Flops & Pearls & Webbisodes for their Home Tour Tuesday!  Today’s theme is all about living rooms!  Well here is mine.  NWH love this room as we do lots of afternoon-napping, dinner-eating, magazine-reading, game-wathcing, date-nighting, wine-drinking, web surfing, etc.  It’s the room we spend the most time in as I’m sure many of you do!

Now after Christmas mine got a little face lift.  MIL gave me these adorable zebra pillows and I used them as my inspiration for the rest of the room.  I got the baskets, the sprays, and the family frame all from Pier 1(love that store).  The red throw and burlap-matted picture frames, and large candle sticks from Pottery Barn (REALLY love that store). The prints inside the frames came from Michael’s and were only $12.99 a piece.

Oh my gosh!!! I’m so EXCITED!!! My first ever blog award and it’s all thanks to the “oh-so” fabulous Jill at A Beautiful Life.  Seriously, her blog is the best, and she absolutely does have one beautiful life!!! Thank you, Jill.

I am now supposed to let you in on a few things about myself. So here goes…

I was in Miss Mississippi a few years ago, and while it was one of the best experiences of my life; it was also something that I did once and had no desire to ever do again!  This is me singing my little heart out

I am also adopted.  I started living with my mom and dad at age six and cannot imagine life with any other two people.  My parents are the most wonderful parents I could have ever asked for! 

Not only am I a clean/ organized/ OCD freak, NWH is too!  How in the world I managed to find a man who is as tidy as me, is beyond me.

Okay… this one may be a little TMI but… I only wash my hair once a week.  Yes, it’s true.  It’s a huge joke in my family (and I get made fun of all the time), but the truth is my hair just looks better when it’s dirty! Even Rebecca Romign swears by dirty hair and look at her!

NWH has learned his lesson

Tonight NWH and I are going to the movies to see “Unknown.”  We loved “Taken” with Liam Neeson and have been counting down the days of his new movie’s release.  So my job today was to go by the theatre and purchase our tickets for tonight.

Well.. Let’s just say NWH has learned his lesson sending me on such an errand.  You see our movie theatre is located in our gorgeous town center with every female’s store under the sun… Black House White Market, Anthropology, Ann Taylor, you name it they’ve got it!

Today has been a wonderful day.  NWH was off and even though I had to work… I work from home now (it just doesn’t get much better than that)!  Tonight we’re relaxing sipping a little of this….

Anyone recognize these??  You got it... they are Gwyneth Paltrow’s shoes from the Grammy’s and they are SICK!! (As in they pretty much stole the show).  NWH and I are lame and recorded the production and are “re-watching” the songs, and I had to find out where these bad boys came from.  Well they are Christian Louboutin and they sale for a mere $1095, pocket change right?  Maybe for Gwenny!!

P.S. I thought the Grammy’s were absolutely fabulous!!

Winter Winter Go AWAY!!

I hope everyone had as fabulous of a weekend as I did.  J-Man and MIL came down.  We ordered pizza Friday night and just hung out together.  Saturday MIL and I met the boys for lunch and then stopped by a few stores...seriously… a few!   I got this too cute Elle top from Kohl’s and I LOVE it!  It is my first official “spring” purchase.  The only problem now is I want to wear it, and I would like winter to GO AWAY!!

the cake disappears!!

If you and your honey (or kids) love chocolate…this is the recipe for you!!  And it’s just in time for V-DAY!!  The H-Family (who has so graciously allowed me to live with them for the past 4 months) bakes cakes!!  Let me rephrase...Mrs. H bakes cakes!  They not only look absolutely gorgeous (she made my wedding cake) they taste AMAZING!

So a few weeks ago she found a new chocolate cake recipe and made some small cake muffins to taste!!  Once again she never disappoints…DEVINE.  I made this recipe for my NWH, and then made it for my mom and dad’s super bowl party this past weekend and both times…the cake disappears!!  So here it is… warning…it’s GOOOOOOOOOD and super easy to make!

Loving LIFE!!

I’m coming back!!  Not only to my blog but also to my HOME!!  It’s a long crazy… and I mean CRAZY story, and maybe when I’m feeling extra brave I’ll share; but the most important thing is that I’m packing my leopard print  bags and heading back home.  In only two days I will be with my honey in my cute apartment just loving my life!!

I’m still going to be working (the dentist office wants me to work from home), but this way I’ll be with my husband 7 days a week instead of only 3!!   I miss him so much.  This whole thing has been a learning experience, and I know deep in my heart everything has a reason.

We have a fun weekend planned with my MIL and J-Man.  We’re heading out Saturday morning to do some serious retail damage and have reservations for dinner Saturday night celebrating Valentines.  They’ll be lots of good wine flowing and tasty food coming!
