it was only 5 Bucks!

Last Sunday NWH, my niece, and I were headed to Atlanta Bread for lunch after church and saw a huge sign outside Big Lots that said something about everything being 30% off.  Now, NWH and I are not Big Lot Shoppers… normally… but with a sign like that how could I resist?

We ended up getting a lot of staple stuff like tooth paste, soap, and laundry detergent but I also found this little canvas.  I thought it would go perfect in my entry foyer, and it was only 5 Bucks!  How cute is this, and I love what it says!

The other side of my entry.

Happy Monday!  Hope everyone had a fab-u-lous weekend!!

Here’s a little welcome basket

My 15- year old niece is coming this week to spend her spring break with NWH and me.  We love having guests and have an entire week of fun stuff planned.  We’ll both be working during the day but are going to try to do things in the evenings that she’ll enjoy.  Here’s a little welcome basket I put together for her yesterday.

How cute is this!!  It has a candle, bath stuff, manicure set, finger nail polish, note pad, note cards, picture frames, a photo album, and a a luggage tag!  There is also a cute wooden “J” hook she can hang in her bedroom at home. I got everything from Michael’s, and it only cost $25!! I sure hope she likes it.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.

she’s wearing Molly!

I love jewelry, and for a while now I have wanted to add a staple necklace to my collection!  I’ve looked and looked for the perfect piece but haven’t fallen in love with anything.  Well the other day I was sitting on the couch, about to grab a mag, and there it was ON THE MAG!

I quickly turned to the inside of the cover to see who Molly was wearing and low and behold… she’s wearing Molly!  Yep, it’s her own line called Grayce by Molly Sims.

Ya’ll, this stuff is beautiful.   Here are just a few more pieces in the collection.

When I showed it to NWH, he said he can’t get into hearts.  He said it looks too 12-year-old-ish.  What do ya’ll think?  To childlike—or total class?  I mean if Molly can pull it off...right??

P.S. This may need to find it's way into my Easter basket!!

Well they are Christian Louboutin

Anyone recognize these??  You got it... they are Gwyneth Paltrow’s shoes from the Grammy’s and they are SICK!! (As in they pretty much stole the show).  NWH and I are lame and recorded the production and are “re-watching” the songs, and I had to find out where these bad boys came from.  Well they are Christian Louboutin and they sale for a mere $1095, pocket change right?  Maybe for Gwenny!!

P.S. I thought the Grammy’s were absolutely fabulous!!

ATL trip was FAB!! Look What I FOUND

I’m back from ATL and what a FAB time we had!! This will be the first of many posts (I’m sure) that report the HYSTERICAL stories of our mini-vacay.  But since I’m washing clothes and unpacking this one will be short.

Look at what I found at Marshall’s!!  I know, I know…they weren’t on the list of three little bitty teeny weeny things, but I just couldn’t resist.  I’ve been wanting nude pumps forever and these were so comfy.  LOVE LOVE LOVE these!  When I got them back to the hotel, NWH said.. “Are they 40 dollars cute?”  I’m thinking, hello, they are Franco Sarto and ONLY 40 little one dollar bills!!

P.S. Just wait for tomorrow's post.  It has something to do with MIL(mother-in-law)+drive by car+directions=extreme laughter!!

Just three little bitty teeny weeny things

It’s going to be a CRAZY, do you hear me, CRAZY few days!  I’m heading down to South Mississippi (a five hour drive, YUCK!) around lunch time.  I have a meeting with a realtor at 5 to look at some homes I found online.  Tomorrow the interview is at 11 and Wednesday evening I’m teaching at church.  Thursday I’ll get up early, make my way BACK to North Alabama and leave again Friday morning for a weekend trip to Atlanta!  How about that!!!

So this Atlanta trip I speak of is kind of an “every-year” tradition, or as NWH refers to it… a family reunion.  We started going on NWH’s 21 first birthday and have gone every year since.  NWH’s mom and step-dad have friends (well, now they are our friends too) who are members of the East Lake Country Club which hosts the FedEx Cup.

So while the guys head to the course, we ladies (me and my mom-in-law) head to TJ’s, Marshalls, the mall, really anyplace that excepts Visa, MasterCard, or American Express!

It is a wonderful mini-vacation, really.  MIL (mom-in-law) and I will get up, have coffees together, maybe work out, shop till we drop, enjoy nice lunches, and then have great evenings with the guys.  Don’t you wish you were coming???

So, since I haven’t been working I feel just a little guilty for spending money on clothes because let me be honest…. I have a closet FULL, FULL of clothes.  So this year I decided to make myself a list of “must haves” that I think I need and just stick to those items.  If and when I find it, I’ll get it, but everything else can just stay on the rack.  (I’ll let you know how that works out for me.)

MUST HAVE LIST

I cannot wait to own one of these!  They are hot on the trend list and would go with so much!  I love this caramel color as it could be worn with black, brown, or even white underneath.  I could pair this with jeans on the weekend or with black skinny's for a more professional look, and for only 29.50 at Old Navy, NWH may just love me for ever!!

Remember these bad boys from Footy Booties Explained?  Yes, I'm still dreaming about them.  This pair of course is from Nine West, but I could settle for some less expensive ones if I stumble upon them.  I want my open-toe-booties in this color though.  They are a good neutral and would go with EVERYTHING.

Love this Chunky Knit trend that's going on (if only it would get COOLER).  The thing I don't love is looking like I'm 50 pounds heavier, so I'll try to find one like this with some type of shape or one that can be belted.  This Diane von Furstenberg Chunky Wool Sweater is a little over my price range at $375 at Nordstrom, but I'm confident I can find was for LESS (let's hope!).

Just three little bitty teeny weeny things...I can already hear your saying it.  Okay, I may get a few other small items hear and there, but for the most part I'm sticking to my guns!  What are your Fall MUST HAVES???  OR do you already have them??   Send me pics and I'll post about them and YOU!!

These make me Grrrrr.....

Okay, so my new obsession is...

Are these not the cutest shoes in the world.  They are Candies "Arty" dress heel and are available at Kohl's.  Lucky for me, I have the most wonderful mother-in-law in the world who got them for me as a surprise.  I went to stay with her in Knoxville while NWH was out of town on business and boy am I glad I did.

Now everyone go out and buy these NOW!  (P.S.  They are on SALE!!)

Newlyweds Can Save $

I absolutely love Victoria’s Secret! Unfortunately for my husband, Vicky's (as I call it) fills my closet more than it fills the top drawer of our dresser. Not only do they have trendy "now" pieces, they also keep a catalog full of classic items that never go out of style.

You must imagine my excitement when I received my new fall magazine filled with glossy pictures of new wardrobe potentials. As I thumbed through the pages I was caught by surprise when I saw “the shirt dress fit for duty” on page 12. “I have this!” I screamed to my husband. Mine, however, didn’t come from VS nor did it cost 78 dollars.

I got mine off the infamous $7-$10 dollar rack at TJ Maxx and love it all the more after seeing its twin on the beautiful model.

Who said a newlywed doesn’t know how to save a little dough??
